For sea and sailing lovers

Puntala e Marina di Scarlino harbours

Both harbours are 15 minutes away from La Luna. Punta Ala, on the southern limit of the Follonica Gulf, has been a port since ancient times but the actual harbour was made in the 70s then re-gained popularity in the late 90s when it became basis of America’s Cup winner Luna Rossa! The name Luna Rossa (Red Moon) has been chosen by the ship owner Patrizio Bertelli admiring a big, reddish, full moon while having dinner at La Luna! Marina di Scarlino is more recent, naturally shielded from bad weather and hosts a  resort, a dockyard and an official Nautor’s Swan center.

The beach that plays a melody

Cala Violina

The name Cala Violina (Violin Bay) comes from the melodic sound the sand makes while you walk thanks to small quartz grains. It is a magical place in the Scarlino Nature Reserve, between sea and Mediterranean scrub. You can book a visit.
